United Way’s Day of Caring- August 4

United Way of Allen County is gearing up for it’s 19th annual Day of Caring! This is an excellent opportunity for those who have always wanted to get involved to see what volunteering is all about.

WHO: Approximately 1,200 United Way of Allen County volunteers

WHEN: Breakfast for volunteers begins at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011; project work begins at approximately 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: Breakfast at Headwaters Park West; projects at non-profit agencies,  schools and homes throughout the community – a list of sites (possible  photo opps) will be emailed one to two days prior to Day of Caring

WHY: United Way’s Day of Caring gets volunteers directly involved in improving the community. This year, Day of Caring has a LIVE UNITED theme; everyone must work together to build a better community.
